Through testimonies of women who have been subjected to violence, the documentary reveals that, despite legal achievements, the woman still remains vulnerable. Maria da Penha Maia Fernandes is a Brazilian women's rights activist and pharmacist who fought for her attacker to be convicted. Maria da Penha has three daughters and is now a leader of movements defending women's rights in Brazil.
